Moneris has announced the launch of PAYD PRO, its smartphone-based mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution, which enables small merchants to accept both credit and debit card payments using a mobile phone.
Announced in November 2013, the solution consists of a mobile application and a reader which is compatible with EMV Chip & PIN and contactless payment technology, and which is connected via a secure Bluetooth connection to compatible smartphones.
PAYD PRO accepts Interac, Discover, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards.
PAYD PRO is currently available for the Apple iOS platform. It will be available for Android devices at the end of fall 2014.
