On its website, EMVCo has published the statistics on global EMV deployment in the fourth quarter of 2013. The figures exclude the United States, for which data have not yet been integrated. Worldwide, EMVCo reports 2.3 billion cards in circulation (30% adoption) and 37 million terminals active (83% adoption), which means that there are 750 million more cards and 13.1 million more terminals than there were in 2012.
